I originally began this blog as a way for friends and family to keep up with my travels without filling their email inboxes with huge photo files that take forever to download. Apparently some people who don't know me are now reading it (which is a good thing - reading the blog that is, not the not knowing me part) so I thought I'd talk a little more about myself here.
Though I'm American and have lived in France for several years, I'm in India at the moment which is pretty obvious to anyone who's reading my blog. I'm here because my fiance is Indian. We met in NYC over 5 years ago and last year we decided to live in Delhi.
We're remodelling an apartment that I hope will one day be done and serve as our home base here in India. In exchange for agreeing to live in Gurgaon part of the year I have negotiated a future second home in someplace spotlessly clean and organized like Switzerland or Germany although I will also settle for France or a Greek island.
Even though it's just an apartment, this is an incredibly challenging project made all the more difficult by incompetent architects & engineers, Medievalesque work techniques combined with a total absence of anything remotely resembling work ethic and completely corrupt people everywhere you go - stay tuned to see how much blood is shed in the process...
Don't worry, I'll still be spending time back in the US where my friends and family are (in case they read this)! In the meantime I've managed to stay healthy, meet some really nice people here and continue with my yoga studies so even though I complain sometimes, overall things are pretty good.
